BUILT ENERGY provide a range of training courses from short presentations, to one and two day workshops. All of our training is highly interactive, enabling attendees to reach an understanding of the DDA in relation to their working environment. Most courses comprise of presentations, question and answer sessions, discussions and practical case studies. Courses are structured for everyone in your organisation, highlighting our desire to promote 'top-level commitment' and we also offer bespoke programmes to meet specific client needs. Many courses are non-technical to challenge thinking about disability issues and encouraging discussion around inclusive service provision. A certificate of course completion is issued for use in participants' Continuing Professional Development records. 1. Disability Etiquette and Awareness Training
2. Disability - The Business Opportunity
At the end of the course, participants will be motivated and equipped to elevate their business to a new level - one where inclusive service provision, not only meets legislation and achieves positive promotion but increases profits. This course is the ideal introduction to our 2 day course, Positive Change Creating an accessible business' 3. Access Audit Your Business
The course covers access and egress through to alternative ways to supply products or services. On completion, attendees will receive a self audit document, helping them take the first steps in creating an inclusive service provision by auditing their own businesses and implementing a strategy for change. 4. Positive Change - Creating An Accessible Business
Universal design / accessibility are used in conjunction with BS8300 and best practice to cover subjects that include: customer service, parking, entrances, colour, circulation / way-finding, equipment and products. A time lapse is given between Day 1 and Day 2 of the course to allow participants an opportunity to consider how they will use the training in their own work. They return to their own businesses, carry-out a self audit analysis and return on Day 2 for group discussion leading to possible solutions. At the end of the course, participants will have developed an understanding of the relationship between design and disability and an appreciation of the access requirements of disabled people. Through identification of key access barriers on site, attendees can formulate an action plan directed at both compliance and business opportunity, leading to a fully inclusive trading environment. |
